Project 921 Go Live Update
We continue making great strides toward rolling out SuccessFactors and the new processes for recruiting, onboarding, and position description management. Several campuses are starting end-user training, and the system is being integrated into Firefly. Campuses are finalizing business process changes including clarifying faculty hiring strategies.
The importance of these nuances has influenced us to explore ways that we can roll out the processes and system solutions in a way that aligns with those respective campus needs. We are currently re-evaluating the published May 5 go-live date. The Project 921 Steering Committee and Campus Senior Leadership are actively working to finalize a new timeline and all the logistics that work best for each campus.
We will provide further details as they become available. Thank you for your support as we continue moving forward towards a new future with Project 921.
Cancel Onboarding
Previously, we covered the processes to onboard a new hire. Today’s Fun Fact Friday reviews scenarios where you need to cancel that onboarding. For example, when a candidate retracts their acceptance or fails to show up on their first day, you will need to stop whatever onboarding activities are in process, and perhaps even reverse some things that you have already completed. With the adoption of the new SuccessFactors system, you can accomplish all of this online with a few clicks and keystrokes.
You can also see how this by watching this week’s Module Monday video. In that you will see the brief, simple step-by-step walkthrough of the onboarding cancellation process.
When you find out that a candidate will no longer be joining the team, you can cancel their onboarding process right in the new system. You will no longer need to use a manual, paper-based process outside of a system. This new approach enhances efficiency, reduces the potential for errors, and consolidates all actions within a single platform.
As you know, the Onboarding Dashboard within the new Onboarding Module consolidates all of your onboarding-related activities into one centralized hub. This dashboard serves as your one stop shop for all onboarding related actions.

To cancel onboarding, search for the new hire on the dashboard. You can use either their name or their hiring manager’s name. Using either name to find the new hire is an example of how the flexibility within SuccessFactors simplifies the actions you need to take to complete the activities of your work.

In the New Hire Details page, use the Action Menu and select Cancel Onboarding.
From here, the process is straightforward. Confirm the cancellation by checking the acknowledgement box, select the reason for the cancellation from the dropdown menu, and add comments for documentation purposes. Once you finalize these steps, click confirm to officially cancel the onboarding.

This process mirrors other workflows like restarting onboarding, ensuring a consistent, familiar approach that you would experience throughout of processes within SuccessFactors. With the enhanced functionalities SuccessFactors brings, managing unexpected changes in the onboarding process is simple with just a few clicks.
